What are assets?

In ON!Track, an asset is something valuable that needs tracking and has identification. Examples include:

  • Tools with serial numbers
  • Safety equipment
  • Vehicles
  • Heavy machinery
  • Storage containers

Anything non-disposable is an asset. Some items like scaffolding are tracked as quantities rather than assets.

Different types of assets

When adding an asset, consider its type:

  • Hilti asset: Hilti tools linked to your account can be automatically added to ON!Track with all available details if set up correctly.
  • Non-Hilti asset: Items from other suppliers, like laptops or cranes.
  • Storage asset: Holds other assets, like:
    • Container/Kit: Tool cabinets or shipping containers.
    • Van: Vehicles linked to Gateways for extra features.
    • Heavy machines: Monitored for engine hours, idle time, etc.

We'll show how to add a Hilti asset linked to your Hilti account and a non-Hilti asset like a van.
