Why does my gateway LED continue blinking yellow for an extended period of time after turning it on?

  • Updated

Please note that this applies only to the stationary gateways and not the Van or Heavy Equipment (HE) gateways:

  • During installation:

    • The Gateway might blink yellow if there's an error. This usually means it's having trouble connecting to the network or there’s a hardware or software problem.

  • What You Can Do
    • Keep the gateway connected while the LED is blinking yellow.

    • The LED will turn green when the self-installation and self-configuration are complete.

  • After turning on/restarting the gateway:
    • The gateway will automatically check for and install the latest firmware. This process can take up to an hour, depending on:
      • The type of mobile connection (e.g., 2G or 4G).
      • The size of the firmware (e.g., a 15 MB firmware update may take about 1 hour on a 2G network or less than 1 minute on a 4G network).
