What are Asset Service Templates, and how do they differ from Asset Templates?

  • Updated

Roles: Administrator & Employee | Interface: Web

Schedule and manage one-time or recurring services for tools, equipment, machinery, or vehicles through Asset Service Templates.

You can schedule services based on Period (i.e. days, weeks, months, years), Distance (note: heavy-equipment only), or Engine Hours (note: heavy-equipment only).

Further, you can specify if a service is critical. When you have an asset or equipment that has a Critical service overdue it can no longer be transferred. The user needs to be either an admin or have a role with special permission called "Critical service transfer" enabled in order to transfer the asset or equipment. This is to prevent the use of equipment that has a mandatory critical service like for example any laser measuring device and their calibration.

Each service name must be unique per account and is linked only to Assets or Asset Templates, not to Quantity Items.

A service can be attached to multiple Assets or Asset Templates but only once as an upcoming service per Asset until this service is completed. Multiple different services can be assigned to a single Asset.
