How Automated Transfers Work?

Automated transfers occur when BLE-tagged assets reach a new gateway-enabled location, provided the automated transfer feature is enabled and the tracking entity is different from the assigned location.

Enabling Automated Transfers

• Settings: Automated transfers can be enabled in the company settings at the tenant level.
• User Permissions: Only users with permissions to manage company settings can enable or disable automated transfers.

Requirements for Automated Transfers

• Supported Assets:
  • Automated transfers are only supported for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) tag enabled asset.
  • Quantity items, Nuron, and any IoT tools without an active BLE tag are not supported for automated transfers.
• Gateway Tracking:
  • Automated transfers work only if the asset is being tracked by a Gateway-enabled location or Storage asset.

• Triggering Automated Transfers:

  • Automated transfer is triggered when the asset arrives at a new Gateway-enabled location/storage asset.

  • The asset’s assigned location/storage must be different from its current tracked location/storage.

• Single Gateway Tracking:

  • The asset must be tracked by one Gateway-enabled location/storage asset only.
  • If the asset is tracked by multiple Gateway-enabled locations, automated transfers will not be triggered. 

• • Origin Location:
    • The asset should not be tracked by the origin location's gateways to trigger an automated transfer.
  • Transit State:
    • If an asset is already in a transit state (moving between locations), automated transfers will not be created, even if it's tracked by a Gateway-enabled location/storage asset.

Transfer Completion

• Alerts: Upon successful transfer, any previous unexpected asset removal alerts for the asset are closed.
• Transfer History: Transfer History tracks recent asset moves, including where, when, and who handled them. Users can view the latest transfer details and the full history for each asset.
