  • Updated

Roles: Administrator & Employee | Device: Web

This feature allows you to automatically register newly purchased Hilti tools, eliminating the need for manual addition. Also, you can immediately see all the new Hilti tools in the system.

Instructions:

Enable automatic registration

Follow the steps below to enable the auto-onboarding of Hilti tools:

  • Log in to your ON!Track the web application and click on Administration.

  • Click on Hilti assets to open the Hilti assets window.

  • When new Hilti tools are added to ON!Track, where they appear depends on whether they are onboarded manually or automatically.
  • There are 3 main sections for on-boarding the Hilti assets:
    • Registering new Hilti purchases
    • Register existing unregistered purchases
    • Default assignments

  • Manual onboarding

If Manual is selected, new purchases are not automatically registered, and these two sections are hidden. If tools are onboarded manually without being assigned to a location:

    • Newly registered tools appear under Assets > New Hilti Assets.
    • To make the tools available in your inventory, assign them to a location, such as a jobsite, warehouse, or employee.
    • After the tools are assigned, they appear under Assets > All Assets.

    Automatic onboarding

  • Selecting Automatic displays the Register existing unregistered purchases and Default assignments sections.
  • Under Registering new Hilti purchases, select the Automatic option.

    • To enable automatic onboarding, you must select a default location.
    • If you cannot find recently purchased tools under New Hilti Assets, check Assets > All Assets or search for the tool by serial number or model name.

Note:

  • If the setting is set to automatic, all new Hilti tools (LTS, fleet, rented, loaned) will be automatically registered, and the following 2 sections will be displayed.

Choose whether to include existing unregistered purchases

  • Under Register existing unregistered purchases, click View unregistered purchases to
View the existing unregistered tools list.

  • The list is view-only. You cannot select individual tools.

    • Select Include in automatic onboarding to onboard the displayed existing unregistered tools.

  • Select Exclude to leave those tools unregistered.

  • If you select Include, onboarding starts when you click Save changes on the main settings screen.

  • After the changes are saved, all existing unregistered tools are automatically onboarded and assigned to the configured default location.

Configure default assignments

  • Under Default assignments, select the default location and responsible employee for newly onboarded tools. These assignments also apply to existing unregistered tools if you choose to include them.

  • You can change the default assignments later. Changes take effect after you click Save changes.

Save your settings

  • Click Save changes to apply the configuration and start onboarding any existing unregistered purchases you have chosen to include.

  • Automatically onboarded Hilti tools display a New badge beside them in the asset list. Manually added Hilti tools do not receive this badge.

  • After you make any changes to the asset, the asset is removed from the New Hilti Assets view and the New label is automatically removed. This can happen when you:

    • Editing the asset description
    • Changing the asset status
    • Opening a newly added Hilti asset in edit mode, even if no changes are made
    • Transferring the asset to another employee or location

  • A permanent 'New Hilti assets' view is also created, which allows you to quickly see all the tools. Recently added to your asset list.

Note: After your Hilti tools are physically delivered, there may be a short processing delay before they appear in your ON!Track account. This is expected and not a sign of a problem. If your asset does not appear within a few business days of delivery, please contact Hilti support.
