Generate Stickers is a self-service feature in ON!Track that allows users to create and download printable labels for Quantity Items, making it easier to organise and manage your items.
Labels can be placed on shelves, bins, or storage areas to simplify item identification and scanning items during stock updates, so you no longer need to create labels manually.
Each sticker includes key item details such as the product name, item number or scan code, barcode, and other relevant information. Hilti items display Hilti branding, while non-Hilti items follow company settings.
Labels can be generated in two ways:
- Quantity Items page for selected items
- Storage Asset page for items located within a storage area.
- Open a Storage Asset.
- Go to its Quantity Items tab, select items, and click Generate Stickers.
- This is useful when you want labels only for items in a specific storage location (locker, shelf, van, etc.).
The process is the same for both options.
Instructions
Step 1
- Go to the Quantity Items page. Select the items you want to create labels for, then click 'Generate Stickers'. The sticker screen will open.
Step 2
- You can select between 1 and 44 items at a time.
- If you select more than 44 items, the Generate Stickers button will be greyed out, and you will see: 'You can select up to 44 items to generate stickers'.
- By default, 2 stickers are created for each item.
- You can increase or decrease the number of stickers for each item using the + and – buttons. Each item must have at least 1 sticker. (maximum 88 stickers per PDF).
Step 3
- You can remove any items you don’t need.
- Removed items are excluded from the preview and PDF.
- If you remove an item during label creation and then cancel, that item will no longer be selected when you return to the Quantity Items page.
- If you cancel, you will return to the page you started from. Your item selection will be kept, except for any items you removed.
Step 4
- Always review the preview before printing and run a test print when using a new printer or label sheet.
Step 5
- Set positions:
- You can also adjust the number of stickers, starting position on the sheet.
- Choose a start position from 1 to 21 to begin printing on partially used label sheets (If the first few labels on your sheet have already been used, choose a later starting position so printing begins from the next available label.).
- Labels are generated in a standard size of 100 mm × 25 mm and provided in PDF format.
- Set Margins:
- Keep margins (0 to 15 mm) to improve alignment.
- Default values: Left Margin 2.5 mm, Top Margin 5 mm.
- If you enter a margin value outside 0–15 mm or leave it empty, an error message will appear and the Download PDF button will be disabled until you correct it.
Note: Changing the margin values does not update the preview. The margins you set will be applied when you download the PDF.
Step 6
- Download PDF: Click Download PDF.
Step 7
- Print at actual size.
- If labels don't align with the sticker sheet, first confirm you're printing at actual size with 'Fit to page' disabled. Try a test print before adjusting margins.
- Do not use “Fit to page,” and do a test print if needed.
Note: When using a new printer or a new type of label sheet, do a test print with a small number of labels first to check alignment.
Note
- If PDF generation fails, retry the action. Once the PDF is ready, you will see the message: 'Sticker PDF is downloaded'.
- If you select both Hilti and non-Hilti items, each label will show the correct branding:
- Hilti logo for Hilti items
- No logo for non-Hilti items.
Company settings
Where to find Company Settings
- Go to Company Settings.
- Click on Generate Stickers.
If the selected identifier (e.g., Scan Code) is empty for an item, the system falls back to the next available identifier (Inventory Number or Manufacturer Item Number).
Once saved, these settings apply to all users in your company.
Admins can control:
Add manufacturer item details alongside the product name for non-Hilti items.
Replace the item number with the manufacturer item number, inventory number, or scan code.
Summary
Generate Stickers makes label creation quick and simple. It helps you stay organized, reduce manual work, and manage stock more accurately.
