A smart tag is a small device attached to a Nuron tool, battery or charger. It provides transparency on where the asset was last seen and where it was last used.
How It Works
Smart tags help keep tool status accurate by updating data based on activity. For example:
- If a tool hasn’t been used for 10 days, the system shows “Idle for 10 days.”
- Smart tag in addition to usage information (“idle time”) also provides Geolocation (“last seen”).
This helps ensure the tool status reflects actual usage.
Smart/Nuron-Based Location & History
The system checks both the Nuron tool and the smart tag to determine the latest activity. It uses the most recent data to update the tool’s usage history. If the smart tag has newer information, that data is used.
Why This Is Helpful
- Shows correct tool status.
- Helps plan maintenance or replacement.
- Reduces manual tracking.
- Keeps data updated automatically.
Smart Tags and Nuron work in the background to keep your tool data and location information up to date, no manual action needed. This ensures full visibility and accurate tracking at all times.
Summary:
Smart Tags and Nuron work together to keep your tool data current. When Gateway coverage is unavailable, Nuron ensures tools remain visible and their data is updated in ON!T, so you always have the latest information.
