Why am I unable to delete an employee?

  • Updated

If you're unable to delete an employee, it could be due to one or more of the following reasons:

  • Linked Assets or Items: The employee may still be linked to assets, quantity items, or locations. Make sure all these associations are removed first.

  • Default Employee for Assets: The employee might be set as the default for certain assets. Check and update this setting if needed.

  • Archived Locations: The employee could still be assigned to archived locations. Remove them from these assignments

  • Admin Privileges: Only an admin can delete another admin. Ensure you have the right permissions.

  • Pending Actions: There may be unresolved tasks or actions related to the employee. These must be completed or cleared.

  • Linked Employee: You won’t be able to delete an employee if they are still connected to important roles or items in the system. Make sure to remove or update these links before trying to delete the employee. This includes situations where the employee is:

    • Assigned as a location manager
    • Marked as the responsible person, owner, or default worker for any asset
    • Linked to quantity item allocations
    • Set as a default worker (this is often missed, so double-check!)

If you've checked all of the above and still can't delete the employee, it might be a system issue. In that case, please contact your system administrator or support team for help.
