Automated Transfers

  • Updated

Introduction

Automated Transfers is a system feature that uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology to automatically update the location of sensor-tag-enabled assets when they enter a new gateway-enabled area. This reduces manual work, minimizes errors, and ensures accurate inventory tracking.

The transfer happens automatically if a tool with a Sensor tag is moved from a vehicle equipped with a Vehicle Gateway to a warehouse with a stationary Gateway. No human intervention is needed; the two gateways handle the transfer for you.

A worker can easily select and transfer an asset from one location to another within ON!Track with just a few clicks. The worker receives a notification when an asset is identified at a new location (e.g., Warehouse gateway). They must then confirm with a single click that the asset should be transferred to the new location. No human intervention is needed. Once an asset is detected at a new location (e.g., Warehouse gateway), it is automatically transferred to that location.

Benefits of Automated Transfers

  • Time Savings: Automates the transfer process, saving valuable time.
  • Error Reduction: Reduces human errors associated with manual transfers.
  • Improved Accuracy: Maintains up-to-date and accurate inventory records.
  • Increased Transparency: Provides clear visibility of asset movements.

The overall benefit of Automated Transfer is Complete Automation which means no manual effort is required with multiple gateways.

Summary

Automated and suggested transfers in ON!Track enhances asset management's efficiency, accuracy, and transparency by reducing manual effort and human errors. These features help maintain parity between the physical locations and the digital records, ensuring that inventory management is seamless and reliable.
