Roles: Administrator & Employee | Interface: Web
ON!Track enables you to create and utilise asset templates, streamlining the management of your asset fleet. A template can be linked to multiple assets that share common attributes, such as manufacturer, model, image, and description. By using templates, you can ensure consistency and efficiency across your assets.
There are two types of Asset Templates available:
- Global Templates: Provided by Hilti for general use.
- Local Templates: Custom templates created by you to meet specific needs.
You can create Local Templates through the following workflows:
- Add template workflow under the administration tab in the asset templates section.
- Add asset workflow if you provide values for the manufacturer and model.
- Asset import workflow, if you provide values for the manufacturer and model
This documentation will guide you through the process of creating a template workflow with asset import, helping you make the most of ON!Track's capabilities.
Instructions:
-
Click the arrow icon, then select "Import" to import the asset.
- Complete step 1 by downloading the import template.
-
Select the template type for your asset, either Hilti or Non-Hilti. If you select Non-Hilti, specify whether it's Owned, Fleet, Rented, or Loaned. Then, click "Download." (For this article, we’ll focus on Non-Hilti assets.)
- The Excel sheet will be downloaded, populated as needed, and clicked save.
- You can go to step 2, upload the Excel sheet, and click " done".
-
To check the asset, click Administration -->Templates and search for the required asset. You’ll see the asset in the template details under the asset template list.
Watch-outs & Good-to-Knows:
-
Use the latest data: Always generate the import file just before uploading to ensure it contains the most up-to-date information.
-
Blue column headers = mandatory fields: If a column header is highlighted in blue, you must fill in its cells. Leaving them blank may cause errors.
-
Test before full import: If you're importing many items, start by uploading just one row to check the results. If everything looks good, go ahead and import the rest.
