Enable Geo Tag Movement Detection for an Asset
Geo Tag movement detection is disabled by default for each asset. Once the feature is enabled at company level, you can activate it for individual Geo Tag–tracked assets in just a few clicks.
How to enable movement detection for a Geo Tag–tracked asset
- Open the asset that is tracked with a Geo Tag.
- Select Edit.
- In the identification section, locate the Geo Tag serial number.
- Enable Movement detection by checking the checkbox directly below the serial number.
- Select Next, then click Save to apply the changes.
Important note
After enabling movement detection, the Geo Tag must receive the updated configuration.
- The Geo Tag applies new settings when it performs its next scheduled location update.
- Location updates are sent at 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM local time.
- Depending on timing, it can take up to 12 hours before the device picks up the new instruction.
Once updated:
- The Geo Tag will send a location update when movement starts.
- It will send another update when movement stops.
- Regular 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM updates continue as usual.
