Why does ON!Track update movement times when I have turned movement detection off?

  • Updated

This is intentional behavior, designed as a safety indicator.

When you disable movement detection for a Geo Tag, the setting is sent to the tag on its next scheduled connection (every 12 hours). Until the tag connects and applies the change, it may continue to send movement updates.

  • One additional movement update after deactivation is normal and expected.

  • If updates continue beyond that, the tag has not yet received the new setting. The system will automatically retry on the next scheduled connection.

You can confirm the current state by checking the movement detection status in the asset details — if it shows "Inactive" but movement times are still updating, the tag is still applying the previous configuration and will stop once it picks up the change.
