Muting UAR alerts during certain times helps you reduce unnecessary noise when asset movement is expected as part of your normal workflow.
The most common example: When a service worker leaves their van to do a job on-site, every tool they take with them moves out of the van gateway's tracking range — and each one triggers an Unexpected Asset Removal alert. During working hours, this is perfectly normal, but it can generate a large number of alerts that aren't actionable.
One thing to keep in mind: If an asset is removed during a muted period and is still missing after the mute window ends, no alert will be generated for that removal. So choose your mute windows to match the times when your team is actively working with the equipment.
