I’m still getting UAR alerts. What should I check?

  • Updated

If you're still receiving UAR (Unexpected Asset Removal) alerts you'd expect to be suppressed, here's what to check:

1. UAR alert configuration in Company Settings
Go to Company Settings → Asset Tracking and check the "Unexpected asset removal (UAR) alerts configurations" section. You can set suppression windows per gateway-enabled entity type — Locations, Vans, Containers, and Heavy Equipment each have their own settings. Make sure:

  • The correct days of the week are selected (e.g., Monday–Friday).

  • Both a start time and end time are set (setting only one will produce an error).

  • The settings are toggled ON — by default they're OFF, meaning UAR alerts fire 24/7.

2. License type
UAR alert configuration is only available on ON!Track Pro, Enterprise, and Legacy licenses. If you're on ON!Track Lite, the configuration section won't appear and suppression isn't available.

3. Known limitation with suppression windows
If an asset is removed from gateway range during the suppression window and stays missing after the window ends, a UAR alert will not be retroactively generated. This means you might not see alerts you expect, or conversely, alerts may fire outside the window for movements that started inside it.

5. Permissions
Only users with access to "Company Settings" can configure UAR alert suppression. If someone else manages your tenant settings, confirm with them that the configuration was saved correctly.

6. Van proximity / false alerts
Vans parked close together can cause gateways to pick up tags from neighboring vehicles, triggering UAR alerts for assets that haven't actually moved. If you're seeing alerts during morning departures or parking, this is a common scenario — the suppression window is specifically designed to help with this.
