This can happen because two different checks are used:
Last seen
Shows where and when the tool was last detected.
Updates as soon as the van gateway (or another tracking device) sees the tool.
Smart Inventory
Shows whether the tool was counted in the last inventory check for the van.
Updates only when a Smart Inventory scan for that van is refreshed.
If the van gateway has seen the tool recently, but the Smart Inventory scan is older, you may see: “Last seen by van gateway” and still “Not found” in Smart Inventory.
This is normal for a short time. Smart Inventory will match the “Last seen” information after the next updated inventory scan for that van.
Scenario Explained:
Yesterday you ran a Smart Inventory for the van → the tool was not found.
This morning the van gateway sees the tool and sends a new signal.
Last seen now says: “Last seen by van gateway – today”
Smart Inventory still says: “Not found” (because it is still using yesterday’s inventory)
After you run a new Smart Inventory for the van, the tool will move from “Not found” to “Found”.
