When the van battery drops below certain voltage thresholds, the TU 700 (and TU 600) gateways progressively reduces its activity to protect the vehicle battery from being drained.
Van battery drops to 12.1V or below:
The gateway enters sleep mode
BLE scanning stops entirely
Geolocation updates slow to once per hour
No utilization data
Gateway may appear offline
Planned maintenance alerts paused
Deep Sleep (< 3.5V Internal Battery):
All communication stops
The gateway is effectively powered off
It will only recover when the van battery is recharged (e.g., engine started)
