Geo tags are great for tracking larger unpowered assets. While your other assets are monitored with our Stationary and Van Gateways.  Geo tags can be used for items like trailers, containers, cable drums and many, many more different types of assets.

Key features of geo tags

This Geo tag is engineered for longrange tracking where BLE or gateway coverage is not available. It offers:

• Accuracy: Up to 100 m (90% of the time) and up to 6 km (10%). The device uses GPS, and if GPS is not available, it will switch to Wi‑Fi or cellular networks, but accuracy may drop to about 6 km.
   
• Battery Life:  Lasts over five years on three AAA batteries with two times a day update.

Use cases for geo tag

• Finding a missing asset before starting work: If a tool or machine can’t be found, a supervisor checks ON!Track to see where it was last located and arranges to retrieve it before work starts.
   
• Confirming that an asset has left a location: When a container or machine is supposed to have been moved, managers use movement information to confirm that it actually left the yard and is on its way or already on site.
   
• Tracking shared equipment across remote jobsites: For equipment that moves between remote sites without gateways, Geo Tags provide regular location updates so teams know which site the equipment is serving.
   
• Supporting investigations when an asset is reported lost: If an asset goes missing, teams use the Geo Tag’s last known locations and movement history to understand where it has been and what may have happened.
   
• Planning asset collection at project close: At the end of a project, teams use the Smart Map to see where Geo‑tagged assets are and plan efficient pickup routes.

• If your Geo Tag is not providing updates: Please verify the battery status, assess the mounting location, and confirm that the battery isolation strip has been removed.
   
• For instances of inaccurate location data: Relocate the Geo Tag to an area with an unobstructed view of the sky to enhance signal reception.
