Proactive Asset Tracking (PAT) is ON!Track's way of automatically keeping track of your tools, equipment, and materials without anyone needing to check them manually.
Instead of people scanning items with their phones, PAT uses small devices — gateways and tags — that communicate with each other. This allows ON!Track to always know where your assets are.
Think of it as an always-on inventory assistant that keeps your records up to date automatically.
Note: PAT features are available on ON!Track Pro, Enterprise, and Legacy license bundles.
Smart Map
The Smart Map shows all your tracked assets on a real map. It displays where each asset is based on the latest data from gateways, Active Tracking tags, and Nuron chargers. You can quickly see if a tool is in the warehouse, in a van, or at a jobsite — without leaving your desk.
How do you use it?
Open the Smart Map from the ON!Track menu. You will see pins showing asset locations. Hover over a pin to see details like "Last Seen" and "Last Seen By." Double-click a pin to zoom in and view the accuracy area.
Smart Inventory
Smart Inventory (also known as Gateway Inventory) lets you check your inventory remotely. Instead of walking through a warehouse and counting tools, ON!Track automatically detects what is present at a gateway-enabled location and shows what is "Found," "Not Found," or "Unexpected."
You do not need to perform manual inventory checks. You can confirm what is in a warehouse, container, or van from your office.
How does it work?
The gateway continuously detects tagged assets nearby. ON!Track uses this information to build an inventory view. The results are shown as: Expected, Found, Not Found, and Unexpected.
How do you use it?
Go to a gateway-enabled location in ON!Track. View the Smart Inventory summary and click a category to see details.
Example: A warehouse manager checks inventory from the office. The stationary gateway has already detected the tagged tools in the warehouse, so the manager can review the inventory without walking around the warehouse floor.
Unexpected Asset Removal Alerts
Unexpected Asset Removal Alerts
These alerts notify you when an asset leaves a location without being properly recorded. This helps prevent loss and theft by informing you immediately when something is removed unexpectedly.
How do you use it?
Admins set this up in Company Settings under Proactive Asset Tracking. You can choose who receives alerts and when.
Automated Transfers
When an asset moves between locations, ON!Track can update its location automatically. Your records stay accurate without extra effort.
How do you use it?
Admins enable this in Company Settings. A recommended delay of 30 minutes is set by default to avoid unnecessary transfers. This delay can be adjusted.
Suggested Transfers
When an asset is detected at a different location but the system cannot determine a single destination — for example, the asset is seen by multiple gateways — ON!Track creates a Suggested Transfer for you to review and approve. You stay in control while still getting helpful suggestions.
How do you use it?
Check the Suggested Transfers section. You can approve or reject suggestions.
Last Seen and Location Tracking
Last Seen and Location Tracking
"Last Seen" shows when and where an asset was last detected and by which device. It helps you quickly find where to start looking for a tool.
How do you use it?
Check the asset details page or add "Last Seen" to your list view.
Geo Tag Movement Detection
This feature sends updates when movement starts or stops, in addition to the regular twice-daily updates. You receive updates when equipment is actually moving.
How do you use it?
Movement Detection can be enabled per asset in ON!Track. Note: Enabling this feature may reduce battery life due to additional transmissions.
Heavy Equipment Management
This feature shows usage data for heavy equipment, such as operating time and idle time. It helps you understand how equipment is being used and whether it is needed. This requires a Telematics Gateway (TU600) installed in the heavy equipment.
How do you use it?
View the "Utilization Insights" section in asset details.
Van Inventory Management
A van gateway tracks which tools are inside the vehicle. You can check tools in the van without opening it. This requires a Van Gateway to be installed and the van to be set up as a storage asset in ON!Track.
How do you use it?
Select the van in ON!Track to view its inventory.
Smart Map Filters
Filters help you narrow down what you see on the map. You can filter by asset type, location, status, and more to quickly find specific assets.
Summary
Proactive Asset Tracking (PAT) automatically tracks your tools and equipment using gateways, Active Tracking tags, Geo Tags, and Nuron chargers — instead of manual checks. It helps you know where your assets are, reduces loss, and keeps records accurate with features like Smart Map, Smart Inventory, alerts, automated transfers, and location tracking.
