Nearby Scan helps you quickly find tools and equipment around you by scanning for assets that have a ON!Track Bluetooth Tags (AI T380 and AI T320). It is especially useful on jobsites, in warehouses, or in containers, when you need to confirm what is physically nearby without relying on manual updates or memory.
Prerequisites:
Bluetooth and Location permissions must be enabled on the device; Active Tracking must be turned on in Company Settings by an admin.
With Nearby Scan you can:
Open Nearby on the ON!Track mobile app
Start a scan and see a list of tagged assets detected near your phone
Tap an item to open asset details (so you can confirm you have the right tool)
Use the scan to support everyday actions, for example collecting tools for a transfer (multi-select is supported on mobile)
What you typically see in Nearby results:
The assets detected near you (based on sensor tags)
The ability to open each asset and verify details before acting
How Nearby Scan helps your business
- Fewer delays in work: You can confirm tool availability in seconds. Work can start or continue without unnecessary delays.
- Fewer mistakes when picking tools: Nearby Scan and tool details help avoid picking the wrong tool.
This reduces returns and forgotten tools. - Better control of tools across sites: Quick checks make it easier to confirm where tools are. This reduces missing‑tool issues and avoids unnecessary replacements or rentals.
Benefits
See nearby tools instantly: Nearby Scan shows all smart tools and tagged equipment close to the phone, so it is clear what is physically around that spot.
Less walking and guessing: Instead of walking around shelves, containers, or the jobsite to check labels, a single scan shows a clear list of nearby tools on the screen.
Faster tool collection: Several tools can be selected from the Nearby list at the same time and added directly to a task or transfer, saving time during setup and loading.
Quick access to tool details: From the Nearby list, tool details can be opened and, for supported Hilti smart tools, connected by Bluetooth to see usage details or adjust settings.
Useful for all mobile users: Workers, foremen, and storekeepers use the same simple Nearby screen to quickly confirm which tools are present in their area.
Use cases
Finding a tool on site: Use Nearby Scan on the phone to see which tools are close. This shows if the missing tool is really near that spot.
Getting tools ready for a job or loading a van: Run Nearby Scan near the tools. The list helps make sure the needed tools are collected before leaving.
Quick check of a storage or warehouse area: Run Nearby Scan in a room, zone, or container. The tools that show in the list are the ones that are really there.
Picking the correct tool when several look the same: Use Nearby Scan, open the tool from the list, and check its details to make sure the correct one is taken.
Summary
Nearby Scan in the ON!Track mobile app shows which tagged tools and equipment are physically close to the phone, so users can quickly see what is around them on jobsites, in warehouses, or in containers.
By listing nearby assets and allowing direct access to their details (with multi‑select for transfers), it reduces walking and guessing, speeds up tool collection, and helps avoid picking the wrong tool.
This leads to fewer work delays, fewer missing‑tool issues, and better control of tools across sites for all mobile users such as workers, foremen, and storekeepers.
