Stationary Gateway Connection and Rebooting

Stationary Gateway Connection

The Stationary Gateway AI G125 connects to Cloud via cellular connectivity OR cable (LAN). It is always recommended to make use of cellular connectivity, when possible.

  • Possible use cases for LAN connection:
    • Low or no internet connectivity via SIM card (e.g. underground in mining)
    • Roaming issues in certain countries or areas
  • LAN connection and implications
    • LAN and SIM card connectivity do not work simultaneously
    • LAN network will always have a priority over SIM card connectivity
    • Once a LAN network is connected SIM card connectivity will be disabled
    • If the LAN network breaks down, the SIM card does not act as a fall-back connectivity solution

LAN Network Requirements

  • Open domain: The LAN network domain must be open not closed.
  • Domain: The gateway is not able to connect to your access. Domain and therefore, non-domain computers need to have internet.
  • MAC address filter: In case your Network is using a whitelist for device MAC addresses the MAC address of the gateway has to be added to the whitelist.
  • DHCP/DNS server: The gateway uses DHCP to configure its IP address, default gateway, and DNS servers.
Those need to be provided by your network for the gateway to work properly.
  • If your network is protected by a firewall: The following ports needs to be accessible by the gateway.

Gateway Rebooting

In case of issues with the Stationary Gateway AI G125, a reboot might be required by the Hilti Support Service. To reboot a gateway, simply unplug it from the power socket, wait min. 30s and plug it back.

Note:
