Customer Case:
The customer wants to understand the difference between the Workdays on Site and Days on Site values shown in ON!Track cost reports. This distinction is important because the two metrics are calculated differently and may result in different values for the same asset.
How does ON!Track work?
ON!Track provides two separate measurements for the time an asset spends at a jobsite:
Days on Site:
Days on Site represents the total number of calendar days an asset was present at the jobsite. This calculation does not consider:
- Weekends
- Public holidays
- Other non-working days
It simply shows the entire period between the asset arriving at the site and leaving the site, regardless of whether the asset was actively used.
Workdays on Site:
Workdays on Site represents the actual working days an asset spent at the jobsite. When calculating this value, ON!Track excludes:
- Weekends configured as non-working days
- Holidays defined in the jobsite settings
- Other non-working days configured for the location
As a result, Workdays on Site reflects the chargeable or operational days based on the jobsite's working calendar.
Summary
- Days on Site = Total calendar days the asset was present at the jobsite.
- Workdays on Site = Total calendar days minus configured weekends, holidays, and other non-working days.
For this reason, the Workdays on Site value will typically be lower than the Days on Site value whenever non-working days occur during the asset's stay at the jobsite.
