What is Plug Cost used for in ON!Track Cost Report?

  • Updated

Customer Case:
The customer wants to track additional jobsite expenses that are not directly related to assets or quantity items. Examples include transportation costs, taxi charges, delivery expenses, or other ad hoc costs incurred at a jobsite. The customer wants these expenses to be visible in ON!Track Cost Reports for reporting, auditing, and cost tracking purposes.

How does ON!Track work?

ON!Track provides the Plug Cost feature to record additional expenses against a location.

Plug Cost allows customers to manually add ad hoc costs that are not generated through asset or quantity item costing.

When creating a Plug Cost entry, the customer typically specifies:

  • Date of the expense
  • Cost Location (jobsite or location where the expense occurred)
  • Amount of the expense
  • Description explaining the nature of the expense

Examples of Plug Costs include:

  • Taxi charges
  • Transportation expenses
  • Delivery costs
  • Site-related miscellaneous expenses
  • Other manually tracked costs

These Plug Cost entries are then included in the ON!Track Cost Reports, allowing customers to see both calculated asset costs and manually entered expenses in a single report.

This helps customers maintain a more complete view of the total costs associated with a jobsite and supports auditing and cost analysis activities.
